Headed into second day of Borgata Poker Open. A lot more players on Day 1B – about double – so a huge field today. A nice run would be nice. Just a couple of double ups and I’m back in the game.

After enduring a grueling 12.5 hours I ended just about where I started. Rough, rough session where my sets got flushed on the turn and two players were ALWAYS going to call with an ace anything. Had one good high pair the entire day, jacks, and get called by Mr. Ace-rag who of course gets an ace. Have tomorrow off, go back Monday and another, hopefully more productive, poker day.

So yesterday when I call home to talk to children, Lincoln wants to know if he can have the weekend off from the math tutoring. I say “tell me your reasons Lincoln” knowing there was some real thought behind the request. “Because Mom that’s what ‘weekend’ means, week-end”. Have to laugh. Sierra excited she didn’t get any “strikes” in school on Friday after garnering two during the week. My social butterfly has to stop socializing and pay attention sometimes.

Couldn’t go to sleep, then woke up a few hours later running through hands. A woulda/coulda/shoulda game in my head. Having breakfast, then think I’ll kick around in a $200 mega at 10 am for seats tomorrow. Then going to rest and get ready for tomorrow.

After starting the day 2nd lowest in chips out of 27 I worked my way up to 5th place. A cool 17k for the work. Some sleep and a fresh perspective tomorrow will be nice … night
