Been playing a little bit, both cash and tournaments. Cash going well and is at least funding the tournaments. Will try for the Main Event of the Caesars Classic next week and that will be my final poker for the month of October …

As I wasn’t playing today got to do Drama Kids with Sierra .. it was Bring Your Mama to Drama today and it was fun. We got to do a skit and act silly. My daughter has enough drama in her for the entire class, and certainly covers both she and I, but it was too much fun to watch. Good day. Cooked dinner, did homework, lots of reading and off to another day tomorrow. Might do Caears small tournament or Bellagio cash … just see how it all feels in the a.m.

This poker gig is good for the soul .. when it stops hurting the soul that is. I do not know if every poker player analyzes and rethinks every hand, every player, all the action in front of them the way I do .. and if they do, God bless them. I go through it all endlessly and tirelessly and it is wearing. My goal is to play perfect poker, something the pros say is impossible .. but impossible is just a word to me, just like no is a word and yes is just as likely .. in fact 50% as likely. Plus, my theory in life is you can get me down and you can hold me there but I’ll be damned if you’re going to keep me there. So there … taking the day off to lick my wounds, disappointed I’m not playing the l5k at Bellagio’s Main Event today but it wasn’t in the cards for me yesterday. Tried my hardest. On to Caesar’s.

Played the Bellagio mega for their Main $l5k event today. l8 seats to be given away, I did not make the cut although I went deep. I have done my usual analyzing and re-analyzing of the hands and as usual think I could have done better. But I’m learning and I will continue to learn …

Playing Cash

Decided to play cash at Bellagio yesterday as I didn’t want to do the six handed shootout or the 5k at Bellagio. Chugged along pretty uneventful for several hours, the usual up and down. Had nut flush cracked by top two pair who got the boat on the river, clipping me for a few hundred dollars. Then another hand with kings with an 8 on the flop, I push, he smooth calls, a 6 on the turn, I push he calls, putting himself all in, shows 9 7 for an turned open ended straight which catches on the river .. one of those days. As I climbed up to even and was racking up, I get aces in the small blind with several limpers. I raise, everyone folds except Mr. 9 7 offsuit. Flop comes 4 Q K, I fire, he calls, turn a Q, I fire and he calls, river is another 4, I check and he says $300. I insta call and he turns over K 7 for kings and queens and I show aces and queens. The language got abusive with .. ‘how the f#$%^ can you call a $300 bet with that board?’ “Because I put you on 9 7 again sir I say … he had the 7′ rack up his money and check out. The day ended up after all ..

Well as happens in this poker gig it just takes a hand or two to send you to the rail. Mine today was l0’s. First they were red, called by 6/7 which hit a set of sixes; then the rest of my stack went to two black l0’s which found queens. So it is. Went to Bellagio and played some cash and did well. Place was Jammed Packed! Lincoln and Sierra were talking about a pumpkin patch fair and haunted house on Rampart Drive so I left the Bellagio after doubling my investment, got home and took them over there. We had a GREAT time although we all needed showers when we drug back in. Grubby, dusty .. but a lot of fun and something they’ve been wantng to do. I enjoyed the time with them and thanked them for their patience while mom tries to hone her poker skills.
