Played the Bellagio $l500 event today along with the masses. Was able to steal and outrun 301 players but just got clipped. Even though I HATE to lose I played really well with little to work with and I’m pleased with my performance. Its really okay .. not going to win them all …. I have to keep telling myself that. Ha.
This morning, getting ready for school, the gators tell me it was so cold yesterday they stayed inside for P. E. I said “what did you do?” “Tug-a-rope” was the answer and close enough for me to figure out what it meant. I told them how in summer camps you do tugrope over mud piles and one team eventually wins when they pull the other one across the line and into the mud. Lincoln thought that sounded cool and Sierra wanted to know if you got showers.
I told Lincoln I thought he would like a sleep away camp by summer time where you could do such things. He thought about it then said “Is is like Daddy Day Camp?” … I told him for him it probably would be .. Ha.
We started the day with 32 with a lot of short stacks. I managed to double up with QQ vs. A 5 and my hand held up. Had Kings and knew I was good against one caller on a J 4 J board (not exactly the flop you want to see with Kings, ha) but I knew he wouldn’t call my substantial pre flop raise with A J and he folded. Ran into a two outer on the river to take me out at 19th and even though I should be more shook up over it, I’m not. I played good, strong, solid poker and I’m proud of my game. I work hard at it and I’m my harshest critic so when I say I’m pleased with my play .. I’m pleased. I went very deep in back to back events and I like that a lot. Feels good.
Tomorrow working then probably play on Wednesday … Life is good. …
Ended the Seniors Event with 30 players and a re-draw with a noon start tomorrow. 92 started, avg. chips about 26k and I’ve 21k .. huge hands all around me and I had to grind, slow and steady but I learned how to do that in the Boot Camp of 2009, otherwise called the World Series of Poker. Go back tomorrow to play down to final 9. A pair in the pocket would be a nice treat to see, ha!… we shall see ..
For anyone who has seen my Hall of Fame video you know my theory in life is you can get me down and you can hold me there – but I’ll be damned if you’re going to keep me there.
Yesterday is over. I learned, I analyzed, I reviewed every hand on note cards. I made $7500 for my efforts. Today is the day I get to implement that knowledge. All knowledge is cumulative with me. I can’t wait to implement. Go Queen Go.
Final Table was rough with being second best on every hand. I lost four key races, really only won one which was against Allen Cunningham’s A Q of hearts when I had kings. Did my best, finished 6th. I’m pleased with my performance, on to the next one …
