Well been offline for a while but not because I’ve been sitting around and eating bon bons. My sister and a longtime, dear family friend came in on Wednesday the 28th. The kids and I went to the airport, went to eat, then came home. Chrissy noted it was nice to be with the Tyners in a house in which we didn’t have a crisis. She’s been there through all of the family traumas .. along with my baby sis … and it is nice to be here and just enjoy.
We all woke up early then the kids and I fell back asleep. Then we had to do a mad dash to get to church on time. There’s a very blind curve pulling out and I did in fact pull out in front of someone, never saw him, bad curve and blond car with all the foilage .. thank goodness he stopped. Laid on the horn heavily, rightfully so, but at least he averted my error. If there had been a place to stop I would have pulled over and apologized to him, I was clearly wrong and I told the children that too.
On the main highway we were able to pull out and several cars separated us. I thought that was the end of it. We got to church and headed in. Damn if the Associate Pastor doesn’t take the pulplit and talk about the close call he had that morning and how glad he is to be in church. The same guy. I was mortified! Just couldn’t believe and made a point of laying low. Gosh what a morning …
Then off to eat and a movie and back home before the big storms hit, gotta love those summer storms.
This has been a lazy time so not much to post. Swimming, eating, cleaning and some sight seeing with the gang has been about it. We took the children on the two ferries – the way I go when I’m headed to Connecticut – and they thought that was more than cool. Sleeping in and roasting corn, swimming and eating is a fun way to spend the summer.
Love being up here and having a church we enjoy. We drive to Southampton, only 15 miles away, to attend the oldest Presbyterian church in the United States. Neat, ld building and the children’s church is very cool. Enjoyable day with the gators and learning what they learn. Asking Lincoln his favorite part always results in typical boy responses like “the food, the snacks or the playground” but that’s allright, it’s getting him into it all.
Lazy day at home, in the pool, with Lincoln and Sierra. Lincoln’s love of movies mirrors mine and Hayden’s so going through and finding ones I know he will enjoy with me is always fun. Sierra just contines to work so hard on her gymnastics. We did 20 situps together the first night and did a schedule to add 10 a day, accomplished the 30 today but by 40 tomorrow will be tough. Unlike her I don’t work out two hours a day. I fixed a big breakfast, then we swam, a light lunch, more swimming and a nice big early dinner .. and more swimming. The things the lazy days of summer are made of.
Plane delayed for an hour and I am exhausted so good thing long plane rides don’t bother me. Too excited to finally be getting home to rest and some happy faces were awaiting me when I got to Islip. Makes it all worthwhile.
