We woke up in California and voted 4-0 to skip Disneyland and head home. We have all had about all we could stand with torrential rains, no sun and cold. We got in about 6:30 last night, I got the Santa things all done and that was it. This morning Lincoln woke me up with an entire dissertation of how strange it was that Santa filled his stocking with the very kinds of candy we have here in the house. He speculated that Santa has magical powers and knows what each child likes and on and on. Little does he know Santa hadn’t expected us here today and had to make do.

This is the first real year where the children have seen the joy of giving gifts. I was quite touched to see Sierra’s insistence I open what she had made for me before she opened her own gifts. A nice sign indeed.

All is well in my world. God bless.
