TopPOSTED BY: Will OC | CATEGORY: Event 1, Event 1 (Day 1C) Level 14 (1,200/2,400/300) Total Entries: 1,476 Players Remaining: 480 Nancy Todd (Boca Raton, FL) We forgot to mention another player near the top of the Day 1C leader board, the “Queen of Diamonds” Nancy Todd. After winning a sizable pot, Nancy is currently sitting with just over 160,000 putting herself in contention with the aforementioned players in the last post post as one of the leaders of this third starting flight. While Nancy may be chatting it up and making friends at her table, we’ve seen her in a running conversation with the players around her for the last hour; she is still a ruthless competitor and poker champion, with just over $400,000 in live tournament earnings to her name. Nancy’s biggest cash and the crowning achievement to her poker career, is without a doubt her 2008 WPT Ladies Championship victory, which netted her just under $70,000 after she defeated Vanessa Selbst heads-up for the title. She has cashed and Final Tabled events from coast to coast, including her biggest Borgata score to date, a 5th place finish in a $1,000 event at the 2009 WPT BPO, but her life’s work is her political consulting career, a business and brand she has grown over the last few decades. Nancy has set herself up for a good finish in this Day 1C flight and she will certainly be a player to watch throughout this series as she is one of the most successful and well rounded players we will likely come across during the Winter Poker Open.

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.” ― Neil Gaiman
