Anyone who knows me knows I love kids, yours, mine, anyones. It was later in my life before I knew I was meant to influence little minds.
I picked the kids up from school the other day and like all kids after school they were starving. Lincoln wanted a sandwich and he was slapping the bread around. The roast which was cooking wasn’t yet ready, the nitrate free lunchmeat was all gone but I had some organic chicken. Lincoln grabbed at it and began to throw it on the bread. I suggested mayonnaise. He responded he didn’t want to wait that long as he was too hungry. He heads to the kitchen table with a dry chicken sandwich and I sit down with him. How’s your sandwich Lincoln I ask. “Okay” he says, “but every time I pick it up it starts to fall everywhere.” ‘That’s why some mayonnaise would have been a good idea Lincoln, you know to help hold it together,” I say. “Well, yeah, maybe” Lincoln responds, “but I’ve been thinking if I just had some duct tape for food I could hold it together just fine.”
Kids make me laugh .. and that’s always a good thing.
