I consider Jerry Yang a friend. Anyone who has won the Main Event is wayyyy ahead of me and I’m quite impressed. Jerry is having a book signing, of his new book obviously, on July 6th in the Brasillia Room 3 from 10am-1pm and 3pm-5pm. It would be great to show support for a Main Event winner, and certainly a gracious ambassador for our great game.

Last Day of School

I have struggled for 179 days in second grade to get Lincoln ready for school. He lollygaggs then it’s a mad dash. This morning he was up, dressed in a collar shirt (generally he tries to do a tee shirt and I make him wear a collared shirt to be more of a gentleman and no I dont care what the other kids wear), hair sprayed down, teeth brushed and EVEN his shoes on, a task which is usually accomplished in the car on the way to school. I was SHOCKED. “Wow I say Lincoln you’re all ready, looking sharp, what’s the deal? “It’s the LAST day of school” he quipped. Kids are so damn funny.

Well Sierra performed beautifully but geez I’m glad the ballet gig is over with. Tooooo stuffy and down your nose to suit me, not the kind of morals I want to teach my daughter. I told Don “give me a 5 a.m. swim meet with 10 kids out of town, I’m your mom”. On to swimming …

Sierra and I went to a recital by the daughter of a friend, Dian Spencer. Today is Sierras own ballet recital at UNLV,dubbed “the biggest stage I’ve ever seen in my whole life” by Sis. Big day for her.

Well the WSOP hasn’t officially started for me yet. I decided not to move in there this year, as the place is falling apart. So I was going to take the motorhome down there until I found out the Rio cut a deal with Phil Ivey for all the prime space. They offered to let me park down there for a mere $8,000 for the Series. Not in this lifetime was my response. So I’ve told everyone of this scam which is being run. Ivey’s guy called back to Don and told him he didn’t appreciate my telling the Rio officials about the deal. I told Don to have the guy call me as I will happily tell him how I feel. So I’m not officially Into the Series yet.

I usually write about the funny things Lincoln says but this time it’s Sierra. I added a phone innDecember and Sis has taken it over, just text and the phone, no Internet service. She can text like a fiend. The other night I was playing and the following came in “Mom, please grond Lincoln when you get home as he pincht me and I have a big broose and he’s been rood to Dad.”. That’s all phonetic and as I got it, but too funny indeed
