Well what a trip already. We hit the National Forest for the Sequoias at 7:05 p.m. thinking we were close to the Lodge. Gatekeeper said “you have an hour to go.” Hour? I couldn’t believe it. Fog was so heavy it was unbelievable. We got to the top, went to check in and were informed the “bears are exceptionally active right now.” Oh great. We ate, got our cabin and crashed. Oh Wow
Well we took off this morning, car loaded, my sister on board and the kids very excited. It’s Spring Break and we are going to see the sights. Headed to the great Sequoias tonight
Flew to Los Angeles on Saturday and spent the day with a group of five. Interesting group, long, arduous day of hard work. Got up Sunday, more meetings, then big meetings, then strategy session and flight home. Take road trip tomorrow with L & S and my sister cuz it’s Spring Break and I always try to make school vacations times to remember. We shall see where we end up but I know it will be memorable.
My sister is coming in from Denver tonight but the plane is delayed until Lord knows when due to storms. Finally got word landing at 11:30 p.m. and Lincoln wanted to ride out there with me so he could see Aunt Kat and so I wouldn’t have to go alone. The Las Vegas airport was so jammed I thought there must be some sort of s scare .. but no just a Friday night in Las Vegas. Glad she got here safe.
Flew to Los Angeles with Don and another gentleman on an interesting business deal there .. we shall see how it turns out. I have a great feeling about it, would be a fun project to do .. more as I learn it.
Spent the entire day dealing with a cantankerous old coot who has an attitude of my way or the highway. It is a scene I hate and one I had hoped to leave behind in the world of politics. They get into deals with a host of people then proceed to try to control the entire group. A chapter in my life book is dedicated to control freaks … something I seem to attract in abundance. I don’t get it. Only good news I have seen time and time again they tend to get theirs in the end. Hallelujah.
The most pleasant part of my day was spent going to Lincoln and Sierra’s class to read my favorite book .. The Little Engine that Could. My children know the gig, why I love the book, the message which is inherent .. if your mind can believe it it can achieve it. And I’m living proof of that … then I had lunch with the first graders. Just love that.
